Winter Wonderland......

I trotted up to the cottage just after the year's first snow storm. Sandra took the SUV to the states for Black Friday shopping, so I took the Civic. I managed to get the winter tires on in the morning, and it's a good thing I did, otherwise I would have been stuck. I barreled into the driveway in reverse - I really should have shoveled first but took a chance. Unfortunately the snow was a bit high and I got stuck. It took me 15 minutes of shoveling underneath the car before it could move. Good thing I brought the shovel.

I was surprised at how bright the moon was. I could see everything, since the trees and ground were completely covered in the reflective white stuff. The other lakes in the area were partially frozen... but not ours.. So I decided to take the old boat out for some Perch or Bass. No luck though - but it was really peaceful while I was out there....

Funny thing was that the guides on my rod kept getting frozen, almost instantly so I could get about 5 or 6 turns on the reel and the line would be frozen to the guides!

Yes.. I am a certified nutcase..... Who else would go out on the lake in below zero weather. Good thing I had my trusty deep cold winter parka on. Here are some other pics..... Maybe I'll try my hand at ice fishing in 2008... time to get myself an auger!
