Spectacular Lake Trout weekend

Thermocline: none
Water temp: 12 degrees C
Weather: Sunny w / moderate wind
Wave action: Moderately choppy
Fish caught: 11

Saturday was an absolutely great fishing day - minus the crazy number of black flies trying to dig and bury themselves into my head (lucky I had a baseball cap). Needless to say getting Tiger outside to do his usual business was extremely annoying - with the mosquitos starting to bite.

When I got out on the water it was beautiful - not a cloud in site and just the perfect amount of wind and wave action. I had a good feeling.

Fish caught on Saturday Morning:

Fish caught on Saturday evening (same Sunny, choppy conditions):

On Sunday, it slowed down a bit... but still had 3 on - only landed one though:

May 2-4 Weekend - Slow trout fishin

Some pics from the long weekend - the weather was mixed Sun / Cloud. Water temperature was 10-11 degrees. No thermocline. Caught a couple, but in all it was quite a slow weekend for lakers

Some catchup photos from Winter / Spring + 1st Trout o' the year

Sam, Tiger (our new fishin buddy) and I went up to the cottage to setup the dock. We also did a bit of fishing. Sam had one on and Tiger looked on as he landed it. 1st fish of the year goes to Sam!

Back in late April there was quite a thaw event on the lake. The water level was as high as we've ever seen it, covering the dock hinges.

I took off to the cottage with Tiger in March - there was still plenty of snow on the ground. In fact, I couldn't park on the driveway and had to dig myself in. It took 2.5 hours to get in. Sandra and I have invested in a pair of Red Feather snowshoes since....
