Trolling for Trout (and Walleye) (and Pike)

This is a log of my fishing adventures at my cottage. I practice CATCH-AND-RELEASE fishing and encourage others to do so as well. There are Lake Trout and Smallmouth on our lake. Lake Trout take a long time to grow compared to other species, so please release them if you can. Note: We're on a new lake now - New species include Largemouth, Walleye, Pike. The walleye are very elusive...

Bass have been great - and even saw a horizontal funnel cloud

Fishing Statistics

Stats from the new lake:
Largest Smallmouth: ~5 lbs
Largest Walleye: 6.5 lbs
Largest Largemouth: Puny
Largest Lake Trout: 8.5 lbs
Largest Pike: ~10 lbs


Stats from the old lake:
Largest Lake Trout Caught : 15.2 lbs (up from 7.25 lbs)


Largest Smallmouth Caught: 3 lbs

2009 Stats:
Lake Trout: 21 (up 3 from last post)

2008 Stats:
Lake Trout: 35

Caught (landed since 2006)

Smallmouth Bass : Countless
